My husband could remember dancing to Tommy Sandersons music in his youth, and when we found that his son was the owner of Maestro Records we asked if we could have a short history of how the firm most of us use to buy our cd’s came about.
Tommy has sent us this short history

All sports have their competitors who like to compete against each other, Modern Sequence Dancing is no different. The aim of an “Inventive Dance Day is that competitors [...]

Headlines in “Dance World” for 1965 were ”Sequence Storm brewing.”. Then “as now” sequence dancing was held in low esteem by ballroom dancers.
A.H. Franks (1940-1945 said “Sequence dancing has really no place in the art of [...]

On Wednesday we went of to the annual Christmas Party at the Morpeth dance. It is on these occasions that you realize the commitment everyone has to the success of their dance. Joan and Ian are great organisers and  like all good leaders have a great rapour with  their dancers.
Members  finished the meal with home made [...]

The other side of the argument.

Posted by: sequencedancemag on: December 4, 2008

You have always promoted debate and a balanced argument, and that is why I have decided to write and add my personal comments to those previously directed at the Associations and the competitors.
The Associations have on many occasions discussed both the number of competitions and the dances they generate each year.  The question that arises is why would [...]

Is it time to listen to the Modern Sequence Dancers.

Posted by: sequencedancemag on: December 1, 2008

When are our Associations going to listen to the dancers and hear them talk about there being just too many new Modern Sequence Dances coming out each year.  Or are the Associations segregating themselves from the ordinary dancer and feel they have no responsibility for the numbers of these dances that are used in the dance clubs?

Where have we been?

Posted by: sequencedancemag on: November 27, 2008

We have just returned from a 5 day holiday at the Langdales Hotel in St. Annes and had we been in a 5 star hotel the staff could have tried harder to please everyone there. Look the www.langdaleshotel.com and see there is a fabulous Health Spa, Swimming Pool Jacuzzi perfect for this time of the year if the [...]

Well, what do you think about John Sargeant leaving Strictly?  This is an abridged version of what I feel
I do feel sorry for him and that he felt he had to leave because of the hassle he has been getting.  I was watching It Takes Two last night and I think he was being polite [...]
